Strike a match! represents with the world I’ve dreamed of as a child.
A world inspired by the hip-hop and r&b stars I heard on the radio.
Gritty, hood, yet so so stylish. As creative director and stylist, I took inspriation
from streetwear and experimented with it. As such, set and styling focused on
strategicially using colors and fun silhouettes.

My Grandfather Once Dreamed of Snow is based on a family story-- how a grandfather experienced snow for the first time. His lasting memory of that day being two mysterious girls under a tree. The photoshoot is that story realized visually. My stylist eye drew inspiratin from Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2021 Show to put together the outfits, emphasizing furs and knits.

Kunika Tran drew inspiration from the lure surronding Panchiko’s 2000 demo EP, “D>E>A>T>H>M>E>T>A>L”. The sonically lush dreamy, physchadelic rock EP was a victim of disc rot and subsequently garnered a cult following on online message boards. As such, the photoshoot followed with a moody theme that aimed to capture the essense of the EP. As the stylist, I worked to adhere to the moody atmosphere. Styling emphasized alternative elements by focusing on indie sleaze and communicating rot through apocalpytic references such as cargo pants.

“if these walls could talk” by Olivia Marbury details her experience in Black salons. I assisted in the conception of the photoshoot as the stylist. With my co-stylist, we wanted to accent natural black hairstyles through the use of brightly colored beaded accessories along with coordated colorful outfits.
